Cal's Crabbe earns Pac-12 Player of the Week award

California junior guard Allen Crabbe today was named the Pac-12 Men’s Basketball Player of the Week. It was the first time that Crabbe has won the award during his collegiate career.

Crabbe, a Los Angeles native, scored 31 points in the Bears' 77-69 win over Number 7-ranked Arizona, the most any player has scored against the Wildcats this season. He went 12-for-15 from the field and 3-for-4 from the free throw line, making a season-high tying four three-pointers.

More importantly, Crabbe was clutch when the Bears most needed him, scoring 19 points in the second half to help Cal pull ahead in a crucial 17-2 run. It was the 12th game this season in which he has reached 20 or more points. In addition, Crabbe also tallied seven boards, five assists, and a block.

Crabbe also scored 16 points on 6-for-14 shooting in Cal's 66-62 loss at Arizona State. For the week, he averaged 23.5 points, 7 boards, and 5.5 assists.

The Golden Bears will play UCLA on Thursday, February 14.
