The Los Angeles Kings' offense will get a boost for their upcoming two-game road trip, as the team activated forward Jeff Carter from the injured reserve list, Kings President/General Manager Dean Lombardi announced today.
Carter, 28, has played in 14 games for the Kings this season and has nine points (5-4=9) and six penalty minutes. At the time of his injury -– he was originally placed on the injured reserve list on November 2 due to a lower body injury -- his five goals co-led the team along with Justin Williams.
However, star goaltender Jonathan Quick will remain out, as he was placed on the injured reserve list (retroactive to November 12) due to a lower body injury. Quick, 27, has played in 16 games for the Kings and has a 10-5-0 record, one shutout, a 2.35 goals-against-average, and a .905 save percentage.
Fortunately for LA, backup goaltender Ben Scrivens has been outstanding since Quick sustained his injury. Scrivens has stepped up big time with three shutouts, a save percentage of .946, and a goals-against average of 1.37.
The Kings will play Vancouver tonight with game time at 7 p.m. The road trip concludes on Wednesday night in San Jose.
