Angels hire new manager Joe Maddon

The Los Angeles Angels have announced that the team has agreed to terms with three-time Manager of the Year Joe Maddon to become the Club’s new Field Manager.  Other outlets have reported that the deal is for three years and is worth an estimated $12 to $15 million.

NFL Week 6 Thursday Game Preview: Giants (2-3) at Patriots (5-0)

Week 6 of the NFL is sure to thrill with a rematch of Super Bowls XLII and XLVI when the New York Giants visit the unbeaten New England Patriots.  Although the Giants won both Super Bowls in 2008 and 2012, the Patriots hold the all-time series advantage, 6-4, including edging the Giants, 27-26, in their last meeting in 2015.

Raiders' Vontaze Burfict suspended for season

The NFL brought the hammer down on Oakland Raiders' linebacker Vontaze Burfict, as the league announced that he has been suspended without pay for the remainder of the 2019 season, including all postseason games.  The league stated in a release that the suspension was for repeated violations of unnecessary roughness rules, including in Sunday’s game against the Indianapolis Colts.

Angels fire manager Brad Ausmus

The Los Angeles Angels' General Manager Billy Eppler today announced that Brad Ausmus will not return as manager in 2020.
