The Los Angeles Kings are in the midst of a disappointing season, but help is on the way, as the team announced that is has activated star goaltender Jonathan Quick off of injured reserve.
In addition, goaltender Peter Budaj has been assigned to the Ontario Reign, and forward Trevor Lewis was placed on injured reserve, retroactive to Nov. 16.
The 32-year-old Quick has missed the last 12 games due to a lower-body injury, which other outlets have reported as a knee injury. In four games this season, he has a .845 save percentage, a 4.55 goals-against average and posted an 0-3-1 record.
Budaj made two appearances during his recent recall and has played in three games overall this season with the Kings.
For the Kings, Quick's return is a step in the right direction, assuming he is healthy, but still does not resolve many of the team's other issues, such as a general lack of speed on the roster.
The Kings open a three-game road trip against the Vancouver Canucks at 7 p.m. The game will be broadcast on FOX Sports West, the FOX Sports App and the LA Kings Audio Network on iHeartRadio.
