Andre Ward Impressive in Victory

December 14, 2008

Cabazon, California - Super Middleweight contender and 2004 Olympic Gold Medalist Andre Ward (17-0, 12KOs) impressively recovered from a potentially career ending knee injury to record a TKO at 2:43 of the 3rd Round over Mexico's Estaban Camou (23-5) Saturday night at the Morongo Casino in Cabazon, California.

Ward showed impressive hand speed and was the aggressor from the opening bell. After pummeling Camou for two rounds, Ward switched to a southpaw stance in the 3rd and overwhelmed his opponent. Ward appears ready to take the next step in his career and soon should be challenging the top of the division.

Ward and his promoter Dan Goosen stated he intends to fight in February back home in Oakland, California.

In the previous bout, young 2008 Olympian Shawn Estrada finished up with a 1st round KO to move to 2-0.
