Daniel Teklehaimanot: From World Cycling Centre To GreenEdge Pastures

August 11, 2011

When Eritrean athlete Daniel Teklehaimanot first began appearing on Europe’s cycling podiums, he was something of a novelty factor.

His coach at the World Cycling Centre (WCC) in Switzerland, Michel Thèze, recalls the surprise of certain announcers who had to ask him where Eritrea was and how was it possible that this lanky young African was rivalling Europe’s best up-and-coming cyclists.

UCI Refutes Allegations By Tyler Hamilton

May 23, 2011

In a press release issued today, the International Cycling Union strongly rejected the allegations made by Tyler Hamilton recently on the television show "60 Minutes" concerning Lance Armstrong's drug use.

Armstrong And Team Astana Take Fourth Stage Of The Tour De France

July 8, 2009

The association of Lance Armstrong and the yellow jersey at the 2009 Tour De France seemed unfathomable – until today. Armstrong needed to make up 40 seconds on Fabian Cancellara of team Saxobank to claim the yellow jersey – an unlikely result according to Armstrong and considering the strength of Saxobank.

Yet, only 9km from the finish line, Armstrong was in the lead by one second, and practically had the yellow jersey in hand.

Armstrong Is Back

July 7, 2009

After a much anticipated second return to the grueling sport of cycling, Lance Armstrong is in the thick of the 2009 Tour De France.

Armstrong started the 2009 Tour low on the pecking order for team Astana. With heavier favorites on the team such as Andreas Kloden, Levi Leipheimer, and pre-race team leader Alberto Contodor, Armstrong has been forced to accept the lesser role of helper or workhorse for his teammates. But Lance has made it clear that he isn't comfortable with this position.
