Pre-Combine 2010 NFL Mock Draft

February 21, 2010

It is definitely time to start thinking about the NFL Draft. Although every year all sorts of predictions are made about the Draft, one can never be reasonably certain of the talent grades until first seeing the performances at the NFL combine and other workouts. Thus, this mock draft takes into consideration projected performance at the NFL combine as well.

Here is our Pre-Combine 2010 Mock NFL Draft:

1. St. Louis Rams - Gerald McCoy, DT (Oklahoma)

The Rams pick McCoy over Suh in a surprise to some.

2. Detroit Lions - Ndamukong Suh, DT (Nebraska)

The Lions are only too happy to take Suh at this pick.

3. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Eric Berry, S (Tennessee)

Perhaps the best all-around player in the draft.

4. Washington Redskins - Sam Bradford, QB (Oklahoma)

They want a QB and they pick Bradford over Clausen.

5. Kansas City Chiefs - Russel Okung, OT (Oklahoma State)

Solid help to their offensive line.

6. Seattle Seahawks - Jimmy Clausen, QB (Notre Dame)

Pete Carroll is invested in Seattle for the long haul and starts with a QB.

7. Cleveland Browns - Joe Haden, CB (Florida)

Top-rated CB in the draft goes to Cleveland.

8. Oakland Raiders - Taylor Mays, S (USC)

Despite some suggestions that Mays is falling in the draft, Davis will not be able to pass him up after the NFL combine.

9. Buffalo Bills - Anthony Davis, OT (Rutgers)

Bills take the 6'6" 325-pound athletic tackle to shore up the line.

10. Denver Broncos - Dez Bryant, WR (Oklahoma State)

Helps fill the anticipated Brandon Marshall void.

11. Jacksonville Jaguars - Brian Price, DT (UCLA)

Was an underrated playmaker for the struggling Bruins last year.

12. Miami Dolphins - Rolondo McClain, LB (Alabama)

Fits nicely in the Bill Parcells type of 3-4 Defense.

13. San Francisco 49ers - CJ Spiller, RB (Clemson)

49ers want the versatile offensive potential that Spiller brings and he can help an injured Frank Gore.

14. Seattle Seahawks - Jahvid Best, RB (California)

The combine numbers will make Best shoot up this Draft and the former Pete Carroll recruit looks good here. (That is unless Taylor Mays is still available).

15. New York Giants - Brandon Spikes, LB (Florida)

Spikes gets ready to join the Giants great linebacker tradition.

16. Tennessee Titans - Carlos Dunlap, DE (Florida)

Titans will look to improve what has become a vulnerable defense.

17. San Francisco 49ers - Jason Pierre-Paul, DE (South Florida)

Regardless of need, Niners won't want to let this extremely talented DE fall past them.

18. Pittsburgh Steelers - Earl Thomas, S (Texas)

Steelers will jump at getting one of the top DBs in a loaded draft.

19. Atlanta Falcons - Brandon Graham, LB (Michigan)

Falcons will use him as a pass-rusher off the edge.

20. Houston Texans - Kyle Wilson, CB (Boise State)

Help anywhere on defense is vital if they want to overtake the Colts.

21. Cincinnati Bengals - Bryan Bulaga, OT (Iowa)

Bengals will take the big lineman if he drops this low.

22. New England Patriots - Derrick Morgan, DE (Georgia Tech)

Patriots sense good value at this pick.

23. Green Bay Packers -Bruce Campbell, OT (Maryland)

Packers desperately need to get help protecting Aaron Rodgers.

24. Philadelphia Eagles - Everson Griffen, DE (USC)

Eagles are looking to re-establish their once vaunted defense.

25. Baltimore Ravens - Golden Tate, WR (Notre Dame)

Ravens need more weapons for Joe Flacco and this is a start.

26, Arizona Cardinals - Aaron Hernandez, TE (Florida)

Not the most practical pick, but the Cardinals like offensive weapons.

27. Dallas Cowboys - Mike Iupati, OT (Idaho)

Offensive line concerns will be the priority unless Jerry Jones makes a big move up the draft.

28. San Diego Chargers - Jonathan Dwyer, RB (Georgia Tech)

Chargers hope he can help spark a struggling running game.

29. New York Jets - Jermaine Gresham, TE (Oklahoma)

Sanchez needs more weapons and the big tight end could help.

30. Minnesota Vikings - Tim Tebow, QB (Florida)

Vikings take a chance on a wild card like Tebow as they have no other current QB of the future.

31. Indianapolis Colts - Charles Brown, OT (USC)

Another smart and safe pick for the Colts.

32. New Orleans Saints - Terrence Cody, DT (Alabama)

Huge tackle could blossom and meet his potential if he keeps his weight under control.

  1. Tebow 1st Round? No way. And Mays is too logical for Al Davis. That crackpot will pick some unknown guy with a fast 40 like he did with Bey last year.
