Chivas USA has announced in a news release that it has acquired defender Heath Pearce in a trade with FC Dallas in exchange for allocation money.
Pearce not only has prior U.S. National Team experience, but also has played professionally in Denmark and Germany. He started 27 games for FC Dallas in 2010, primarily playing at right defender while helping Dallas to the Western Conference Championship.
Although Pearce failed to make the U.S. National Team's final 2010 FIFA World Cup roster, he was part of the 2009 FIFA Confederations Cup and 2009 Gold Cup squads. Pearce, 26, is expected to join a defensive corps that includes Mexico's Mariano Trujillo and fellow Californian Jimmy Conrad.
