Kings Playoff Series Schedule Announced

April 8, 2012

The eighth-seeded Los Angeles Kings will open the first round of the NHL playoffs against the Western Conference's number one seed, the Vancouver Canucks.

The Kings have faced the Canucks in four prior playoff series, splitting the all-time postseason series at 2-2.  The two franchises met most recently during the 2010 playoffs, with the Canucks emerging victorious.

A more relevant indicator might be this season's series between the Kings and Canucks, as each squad enjoyed their fair share of success:

  • November 10 at STAPLES Center: Canucks 3, Kings 2
  • December 31 at STAPLES Center: Kings 4, Canucks 1
  • January 17 in Vancouver: Kings 3, Canucks 2
  • March 26 in Vancouver: Canucks 1, Kings 0.

The series schedule, announced by the NHL this morning, will be as follows:

  • Game 1            Kings at Vancouver       Wednesday, April 11                7:30 p.m.
  • Game 2            Kings at Vancouver       Friday, April 13                        7 p.m.
  • Game 3            Vancouver at Kings      Sunday, April 15                      7:30 p.m.
  • Game 4            Vancouver at Kings      Wednesday, April 18                7 p.m.
  • Game 5 *         Kings at Vancouver       Sunday, April 22                      TBD
  • Game 6 *         Vancouver at Kings      Tuesday, April 24                     TBD
  • Game 7 *         Kings at Vancouver       Thursday, April 26                    TBD
             * = if necessary

Games 1-4 will be televised on both the NBC Sports Network and the CBC.  Radio coverage in LA can be heard on AM 1150.
