Los Angeles Galaxy forward Edson Buddle and midfielder Dan Keat have each undergone successful right knee surgeries and are expected to miss the next 3-6 weeks of action.
Buddle was brought in this season to provide additional offensive punch to the Galaxy's already potent assortment of weapons. Although he appeared in 12 of the club’s 13 games, Buddle has had a mediocre season, scoring only two goals thus far.
On Monday, Buddle underwent a meniscectomy on his right knee to repair damage done to his meniscus.
Keat underwent the same procedure, also on his right knee, on Thursday, May 31. Both procedures were performed by Galaxy Club Physician, Dr. Bert Mandelbaum, in Santa Monica , California. Keat has played in two games for the Galaxy this season.
In addition, the team received some positive news when defender Leonardo's MRI on Monday revealed no structural damage in his right knee. He is listed on the club’s current injury report as questionable with inflammation in his right knee. There is no immediate timetable for his return.
