The 2012 Stanley Cup Champion Los Angeles Kings have sent qualifying offers to seven restricted free agents.
In order to obtain the right of first refusal or a compensatory draft pick for players who sign an offer sheet with another club, a one-year "qualifying offer" must be extended to any current restricted free agent by June 25.
If a team does not give a qualifying offer to a restricted free agent, that player is eligible to become an unrestricted free agent on July 1, and can sign with any team with no compensation required to the player’s former club.
Here are the seven restricted free agents who received an offer:
Dwight King - LW
Justin Azevedo - C
Andrew Campbell - D
Thomas Hickey - D
Stefan Legein - RW
David Meckler - LW
Jake Muzzin - D
Ray Kaunisto (LW) was not sent a qualifying offer, therefore making him an unrestricted free agent.
