In a move designed to provide some insurance for the team's backcourt, the Los Angeles Sparks have signed 12-year veteran guard Coco Miller.
"We had a need for an additional guard," Sparks Head Coach Carol Ross said. "Miller's ball handling skills and experience in this league will help fill that vacancy."
A 5'9" guard, Miller appeared in 31 games last season with the Atlanta Dream, averaging 7.3 points, 1.9 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game
Miller has a familiarity with Ross, having spent the last three seasons playing for her while Ross was a Dream assistant coach. The pair helped lead the Dream to back-to-back Eastern Conference championships.
Miller was named the WNBA’s Most Improved Player in 2002.
