Galaxy defeat Toronto, 4-2

September 23, 2012

Carson, CA -- In their only regular season MLS matchup with Los Angeles in 2012, Toronto FC visited the Home Depot Center to take on the Galaxy.  In the 11th minute, LA took a 1-0 lead, as Juninho struck a great free-kick from just outside the box that found the right corner at the far post.

Juninho would continue his unbelievable exhibition of talent in the 33rd minute when he scored his 7th goal of the season with a wonderful strike from 35 yards out.  Sean Franklin passed off to Juninho, who was left unguarded by the Toronto defense.  Juninho took a dribble and lined it up from afar.  His shot was a laser that hit the upper left corner of goal and sent the crowd and his teammates into a frenzy with his second goal on the night.

In the 36th minute, the Galaxy continued the onslaught, as Mike Magee received the ball in the box and made a great turn around the defender as he received the pass.  Magee then left it off for Robbie Keane, who chipped the ball over the Toronto defense and goalkeeper for a 3-0 lead.

Minutes later, Toronto would make it a 3-1 game when they inbounded the ball on a throw-in, and Terry Dunfield headed the ball off a Galaxy defender and into goal.

As the second half continued, the game stayed 3-1 until Toronto made things a little interesting in the 86th minute with a shot by Luis Silva that bounced around and trickled into goal for a 3-2 score.

Robbie Keane, however, put the game away for good in stoppage time when he put his usual tricky moves on a Toronto defender and powered the ball into goal for a 4-2 win.
