EDITOR'S CORRECTION: As to the statement (1:45) that Kidd "won an MVP, but not a ring" . . .

Sorry everyone, I was trippin there for a minute and reversed things. Kidd won a ring with Dallas later in his career, but came in second to Duncan in the MVP voting while with the Nets. I still stand by my comment that Shaq was the best player in the league at that time (when Kidd finished second in the voting), despite Shaq's tendency to coast during the regular season.  This is because Shaq was clearly the most dominant player on the NBA's title-winning team that year.
