KINGS DEFEAT CANUCKS, 5-1

Down 1-0, the Kings scored five unanswered goals – highlighted by multi-point efforts from Anze Kopitar (1-2—3), Jeff Carter (2-0—2) and Drew Doughty (1-1—2) – to earn their sixth win in their past eight games. Carter registered his 300th NHL goal (and 104th w/ LAK), while Kopitar reached the 20-goal milestone for the eighth time in his 10 seasons.

The Kings honored former forward Jimmy Carson during a pregame ceremony at STAPLES Center.

Canucks defenseman Dan Hamhuis (1-0—1) recorded his 300th NHL point.

CAPITALS SNAP DUCKS' WIN STREAK

Braden Holtby made 27 saves and turned aside two shootout attempts to backstop the Capitals to their fourth victory in their past five outings and halt the Ducks’ franchise-record winning streak at 11 games.

Holtby picked up his League-leading 41st victory of the season (54 GP) to match a career high and club record also achieved in 2014-15 (73 GP). He also ranks in the top 10 in the NHL this season in goals-against average (7th; 2.21) and save percentage (9th; .923).

Despite suffering the shootout loss, the Ducks extended their point streak to 14 games (12-0-2) – two shy of equaling the franchise record established Oct. 6 – Nov. 9, 2006 (12-0-4).

JAGR PASSES HOWE FOR 3RD PLACE ON ALL-TIME POINTS LIST

Panthers forward Jaromir Jagr (743-1,108—1,851) collected one assist to move past Gordie Howe (801-1,049—1,850) and into sole possession of third place on the NHL’s all-time points list:

Most Points, NHL History
1. Wayne Gretzky: 894-1,963—2,857
2. Mark Messier: 694-1,193—1,887
3. Jaromir Jagr: 743-1,108—1,851
4. Gordie Howe: 801-1,049—1,850
5. Ron Francis: 549-1,249—1,798

Jagr achieved the feat in his 1,613th career game – 154 fewer than Howe played (1,767) – to also move past Ray Bourque (1,612) and into sole possession of ninth place on the NHL’s all-time games played list.
