CARTER ECLIPSES MILESTONE AS KINGS HOLD OFF DUCKS

Jeff Carter (2-1—3) recorded his 599th, 600th, and 601st NHL points, including a League-leading fifth game-winning goal of the season, as the Kings held off a surging Ducks team in the third period for the win.

Kings goaltender Peter Budaj improved his record to 10-6-1 this season, tied for third in the League in wins, after taking over the starting role from injured goaltenders Jonathan Quick and Jeff Zatkoff.

The Kings, who have now won three games in a row, are tied with Anaheim and Edmonton atop the Pacific Division with 21 points each.

COLUMBUS WINS FOURTH IN A ROW

Columbus forward Alexander Wennberg scored the game-winning goal with 54 seconds left in the third period to lead the Blue Jackets 3-2 over the Washington Capitals.

The Blue Jackets won their fourth straight game, improving to 8-1-1 in their last 10 games. Sergei Bobrovsky (19 saves) improved to 7-1-0 in his last nine appearances and 10-4-1 overall (2.19 GAA, .931 SV%, 3 SO).
