Galaxy lose Robbie Rogers for season

May 11, 2017

The news keeps getting worse on what has been an otherwise mediocre year for the Los Angeles Galaxy, as defender Robbie Rogers has been placed on the team’s Season Ending Injury (SEI) list, the club announced.

Rogers, 29, received surgery during the offseason for nerve damage sustained to his left ankle.

A 10-season veteran of MLS, Rogers has tallied 184 appearances, 78 of them with the Galaxy. He’s won two MLS Cups, with Columbus Crew in 2008 and with Galaxy in 2014.

Last season, he made 19 starts for the Galaxy in addition to postseason starts in each of the team’s three playoff matches.
