KINGS DEFEAT BLUES, 3-0

Jhonas Enroth stopped all 24 shots he faced, including 11 in the middle stanza, to lead the Kings to their eighth victory in their past nine outings over the Blues following a 0-3-0 start to the season.

Enroth recorded his sixth career shutout and first in a Kings uniform. He has denied 63 of 64 shots (.984 SV%) in his first two appearances with the team.

TOP LINE PROPELS OILERS PAST FLYERS

The line of Taylor Hall (1-2—3), Ryan Nugent-Hopkins (2-0—2) and Leon Draisaitl (0-2—2) combined for 3-4—7, including two third-period goals, to lead the Oilers to their second victory in their past three contests.

Hall notched his fourth consecutive multi-point performance (3-7—10); Elias says he became the first Oilers player to achieve that feat since April 3-10, 2010 (Tom Gilbert: 1-8—9 in 4 GP). Hall also extended his overall point streak to six games (4-8—12).

Nugent-Hopkins also stretched his point streak to six contests (3-6—9), equaling a career high last achieved March 12-23 (4-7—11).

Unfortunately, any good vibes gained from this win were quickly deflated because . . .

McDAVID SIDELINED INDEFINITELY

Oilers forward Connor McDavid, the first overall selection in the 2015 NHL Draft, suffered a "long-term, upper-body injury" during Tuesday’s game. McDavid, who was named the NHL’s Rookie of the Month for October, paces all rookies with 5-7—12 in 13 contests this season.

“He’s disappointed, it’s disappointing to get injured,” said Oilers head coach Todd McLellan. “It’s his rookie year, things are going really well and he wants to be part of the group, which he still will be, just not in a uniform for a little while. I have a 19-year-old, I can’t imagine how he would feel if he was in the NHL in his first year and got hurt.”

SEGUIN’S HAT TRICK LIFTS STARS OVER FORMER CLUB

Tyler Seguin, the second overall selection by Boston in the 2010 NHL Draft, recorded a hat trick against his former team to lift the Stars to their fourth victory in their past five outings and snap the Bruins’ point streak at seven contests (6-0-1).

Seguin, who registered 56-65—121 in 203 games with the Bruins from 2010-13 (0.60 PPG), scored his first goals in five outings against his former team (3-2—5). Via Elias, he became the first former Bruins player to post a hat trick against the club since Nov. 7, 1996 (Mariusz Czerkawski: 3-0—3 w/ EDM).

Seguin, who has 82-99—181 in 164 contests since joining the Stars for the 2013-14 campaign (1.10 PPG), picked up his seventh career hat trick and sixth in a Dallas uniform – Elias notes that his six such performances are the most in the NHL over the last three seasons.

Seguin also extended his point streak to six games (4-6—10). He (8-12—20) and teammate Jamie Benn (10-10—20), who collected two assists, share the League lead with 20 points apiece this season (13 GP).

In scoring his hat trick, Seguin became the first member of the 2010 NHL Draft class to reach 300 career points (138-164—302 in 367 GP). Oilers forward Taylor Hall, the top pick from that year, sits second with 112-167—279 (312 GP).

IGINLA ALSO LEADS AVALANCHE OVER FORMER TEAM

Jarome Iginla, who spent the first 16 seasons of his NHL career with the Flames, also registered three points (2-1—3) to propel the Avalanche past his former club.

Iginla, who compiled 525-570—1,095 in 1,219 games with the Flames from 1996-13, also scored his first goals in six outings against his former team (2-4—6). He now has recorded at least one goal against every NHL team.

Overall, Iginla notched his 106th career multi-goal game, second among active players behind Panthers forward Jaromir Jagr (124).

With 595 career goals, Iginla is six shy of tying Jari Kurri (601) for 18th place on the NHL’s all-time goals list.

Six other Avalanche players picked up multiple points: Nathan MacKinnon (1-2—3), Tyson Barrie (0-3—3), Matt Duchene (2-0—2), Erik Johnson (1-1—2), Francois Beauchemin (0-2—2) and Gabriel Landeskog (0-2—2).

RANGERS HANDLE CAPITALS IN FIRST MEETING SINCE PLAYOFFS

Four players – Derick Brassard, Kevin Hayes, Kevin Klein and Oscar Lindberg – collected 1-1—2 to power the Rangers past the Capitals in their first meeting since the Second Round of the 2015 Stanley Cup Playoffs, when New York won in overtime of Game 7.

The Rangers extended a pair of streaks – they pushed their overall point streak to seven contests (5-0-2) and also won their fifth consecutive game at Madison Square Garden, where they are 6-1-1 this season.

Lindberg scored his sixth goal of the season (12 GP), tops among rookies. Via Elias, he became the first Rangers rookie to pick up six or more goals in the team’s first 12 games of a season since 1989-90 (Darren Turcotte: 9).

Klein added his fifth game-winning goal over the past two seasons (77 GP). He had three such goals in his first 433 career NHL appearances.

BLUES VISIT BLACKHAWKS ON WEDNESDAY NIGHT RIVALRY GAME

The Blues visit the defending Stanley Cup champion Blackhawks at United Center on NBCSN’s Wednesday Night Rivalry matchup. This marks the first of five meetings in 2015-16 between these Central Division foes.

St. Louis has won seven of their past 11 regular-season matchups dating to April 27, 2013 (CHI: 4-5-2). Chicago, however, won a six-game series between the clubs in the First Round of the 2014 Stanley Cup Playoffs, reeling off four consecutive victories after falling behind 0-2.

Overall, the Blues are coming off a 3-0 loss on Tuesday on the heels of a three-game winning streak, while the Blackhawks have won five of their past seven outings, including a 4-2 victory on Monday over the streaking Kings.
